Grass Valley to Showcase Unified Live Production Ecosystem at IBC2026
AMSTERDAM – Grass Valley has announced plans to unveil a transformative approach to live content creation at IBC2026, centering its showcase on an integrated production environment that bridges the gap between traditional hardware and modern, software-defined workflows.
Under the theme of its “Dynamic Media Facility” strategy, Grass Valley aims to demonstrate how broadcasters can leverage its flagship hardware—such as the K-Frame switcher—alongside cloud-based applications within the Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP). The goal is to provide production teams with the agility of software-defined tools while maintaining the tactile, reliable control surfaces they have relied on for decades.
A Hybrid Core: K-Frame and AMPP Integration
At the heart of the demonstration remains the K-Frame, which continues to serve as the industry standard for high-stakes, live production environments. At IBC2026, Grass Valley will highlight how K-Frame’s true suites operation allows multiple productions to share processing and I/O resources simultaneously. Key enhancements include expanded UltraMatch format conversion, integration with Daktronics LED mapping for venue displays, and new automation capabilities via CUEZ Automate.
Crucially, Grass Valley is extending K-Frame control panels into the AMPP ecosystem, allowing operators to use familiar hardware, such as Korona, Stream Deck, and Skaarhoj surfaces, to control the Maverik X software-based switcher. This flexibility ensures that the transition to cloud or edge deployments does not come at the cost of operator muscle memory or operational speed.
“Live production does not leave room for hesitation,” said Greg Huttie, VP of Live Production Solutions at Grass Valley. “At IBC, we are showing how K-Frame continues to provide that trusted live core, while extending its reach across software-based production, replay, venues, and distributed teams.”
Expanding the Replay and Audio Landscape
The showcase will also feature significant upgrades to Grass Valley’s portfolio, including LiveTouch X, which now benefits from enhanced multi-camera controls, faster navigation, and deeper integration with triple-speed LDX cameras.
On the audio front, the company is introducing several new AMPP-native applications:
- AMPP Commentator: A browser-based solution for professional commentary from remote locations.
- Audio Cart: Specialized playout for music, stings, and sound effects.
- AMPP Intercom: A flexible communications system that can operate independently or bridge with legacy facility intercoms.
Partner Ecosystem and Enterprise Growth
Grass Valley’s booth will also highlight a robust partner ecosystem designed to broaden the scope of its platform. This includes Calrec’s ImPulseV for virtualized DSP, Zoom ISOcloud for remote source integration, and various graphics solutions from partners like Flowics.
For corporate and enterprise users, the company will demonstrate Event Producer X and Framelight X, which streamline media management and production for town halls and leadership communications. According to Product Director Jonathan Lyth, the objective is to simplify complex workflows.
“Software production should expand what a production team can do, not force it to relearn how to work,” Lyth stated. “Hybrid production is not about choosing hardware or software. It is about bringing the right resources together for each production and making them simple for people to operate.”
Grass Valley will host these demonstrations at Stand 9.A01 during IBC2026, which runs from September 11–14 at the RAI Amsterdam.
