MHT CET 2026: CAP Round 4 Option Entry Begins for BE/BTech Admissions

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra, has officially commenced the option entry process for the fourth round of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for undergraduate engineering and technology courses. With over 23,000 seats still available across the state, this round serves as a crucial window for students seeking admission to various BE and BTech programmes.

Crucial Opportunity for Applicants

Following the conclusion of previous rounds, the CET Cell has opened the portal for candidates to submit and confirm their college and course preferences for the final major phase of the admission cycle. A total of 23,107 vacant seats are currently up for grabs, providing a significant opportunity for students who have yet to secure a seat in their preferred institutions.

Students can now participate in the MHT CET 2026 counselling process by logging into the official portal to finalize their choices.

Important Schedule and Deadlines

Candidates must adhere to the following timeline to ensure their participation in the seat allotment process:

  • Option Entry Window: August 30 to September 1, 2026
  • Provisional Seat Allotment Result: September 3, 2026
  • Seat Acceptance and Institute Reporting: September 4 to September 7, 2026

It is imperative that applicants complete the confirmation of their choices within the specified deadline, as late submissions may not be considered for the Round 4 allotment.

Steps to Complete Option Entry

To participate in CAP Round 4, candidates should follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the official MHT CET CAP website.
  2. Access the candidate dashboard using your login credentials.
  3. Open the “CAP Round 4 Option Form.”
  4. Carefully select your preferred colleges and branches, arranging them in descending order of preference.
  5. Review all selections thoroughly before final submission.
  6. Confirm the choices and download the acknowledgment copy for your records.

Next Steps Following Allotment

Once the provisional allotment result is declared on September 3, successful candidates must take prompt action. Between September 4 and September 7, students are required to log in to the portal to accept their allotted seats.

Following the online acceptance, students must physically report to their assigned institute. During this period, candidates are expected to complete the final admission formalities, which include document verification and the payment of prescribed tuition fees. Failure to report to the allotted institute within the specified window may result in the forfeiture of the seat.

Candidates are advised to monitor the official portal regularly for any further updates or notices from the State CET Cell.
