IBPS RRB Clerk 2026: Registration for CRP RRBs-XV Set to Begin September 1

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially announced the roadmap for its upcoming recruitment drive, the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks (CRP RRBs-XV). Aspiring candidates looking to join the banking sector as an Office Assistant (Multipurpose) or in Officer Scale I, II, and III positions can begin their application process on September 1, 2026.

According to the latest update, the registration window will remain active until September 21, 2026. Interested applicants are encouraged to stay tuned to the official portal, as the final details regarding vacancies and specific recruitment terms will be formalized upon the release of the official notification.

Key Examination Dates

The IBPS has outlined a comprehensive schedule for the 2026-2027 cycle:

  • Office Assistant Prelims: December 6, 12, and 13, 2026
  • Office Assistant Mains: January 30, 2027
  • Officer Scale I Prelims: November 21 and 22, 2026
  • Officer Scale I Mains: December 2026
  • Officer Scale II & III: December 20, 2026

Eligibility and Selection Process

To qualify for the Office Assistant role, candidates must be between 18 and 28 years of age and hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Applicants should also be proficient in the local language of the state or union territory they are applying for. IBPS provides age relaxations of five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC, and up to 10 years for PwBD applicants, in accordance with government guidelines.

The selection process for the Clerk (Office Assistant) position is bifurcated into a preliminary and a main examination. Crucially, there is no interview round for this post; the merit list is prepared based solely on the performance in the main examination.

Exam Pattern and Financial Perks

The preliminary exam consists of 80 questions (Reasoning and Numerical Ability) to be completed in 45 minutes, with a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer. The main exam is more extensive, featuring 200 questions across five sections: Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, English/Hindi, and Computer Knowledge.

Successful candidates can expect a competitive starting salary, with a basic pay of approximately Rs 19,900. Including allowances, the monthly in-hand salary for an Office Assistant typically ranges between Rs 28,000 and Rs 30,000, depending on the posting location and the specific Regional Rural Bank.

How to Apply

Once the registration window opens, candidates should visit the official IBPS website to initiate their application. The process will involve:

  1. Filling out personal and educational credentials.
  2. Uploading required documents and photographs.
  3. Paying the application fee (expected to be Rs 850 for general categories and Rs 175 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, pending official confirmation).
  4. Downloading the final submission receipt for future reference.

As vacancy numbers are yet to be confirmed, experts suggest keeping a close watch on state-specific notifications, particularly for regions like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, which have historically seen higher recruitment numbers.
