Chandigarh, August 31, 2026: The Education Recruitment Directorate (ERD), Punjab, is set to conclude its online application process for the recruitment of 2,000 Physical Training Instructors (PTI) today. A mandatory requirement is that candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a subject. Selection Process and Physical Standards

Additionally, candidates with notable sports achievements may be eligible for a weightage of up to 30 marks based on their gradation.
Applicants must also clear a qualifying Physical Eligibility Test (PET). This test comprises five components—30-metre flying start, standing broad jump, 6×10-metre shuttle run, bend and reach, and a 1,600-metre run. Candidates are required to successfully clear at least three of these five challenges. Notably, Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are exempt from the PET requirement.
