PIB Debunks NEET PG 2026 Paper Leak Rumors; Re-exam Scheduled for 2,445 Candidates
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has officially dismissed viral social media claims alleging a question paper leak during the recent NEET PG 2026 examination at a test center in Jaipur. In a firm fact-check release, government authorities clarified that the rumors were entirely baseless and urged candidates to ignore unverified information circulating online.
Misunderstanding Technical Glitches for Security Breaches
The speculation appears to have stemmed from a technical disruption at the iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura Centre in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on August 30. While the national examination proceeded smoothly for the vast majority of the 2.73 lakh registered candidates, an internal power supply failure at the Jaipur venue prevented 2,445 students from completing their tests.
The PIB emphasized that this localized technical issue should not be conflated with a security breach. “There was no question paper leak during the NEET PG 2026 examination,” the agency stated, advising the public to rely solely on official communications for updates regarding the NEET PG 2026 entrance process.
NBEMS Announces Remedial Measures
In an effort to ensure fairness, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has stepped in to mitigate the impact of the disruption. Recognizing that the affected candidates were hindered by circumstances beyond their control, the board has scheduled a re-examination exclusively for the 2,445 impacted students.
The re-test is slated for September 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM in Jaipur. Eligible candidates are urged to monitor the official NBEMS portal closely for specific instructions regarding reporting times and venue details to ensure a seamless experience.
Examination Overview and Performance
Despite the incident in Jaipur, the NEET PG 2026 was conducted successfully across 339 cities, covering 1,111 examination centers. Official data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare indicates that approximately 2.66 million candidates appeared for the exam, with 2.63 million successfully completing the process on schedule.
Early academic analysis of the paper suggests a moderate level of difficulty, with a distinct shift toward clinical application. Experts noted that the examination favored candidates with strong conceptual clarity and practical diagnostic skills, moving away from rote memorization.
