Samsung Expands Galaxy Book 6 Lineup with New, Budget-Friendly Model Starting at $799
Samsung is lowering the barrier to entry for its latest laptop series, announcing a new, more affordable version of the Galaxy Book 6. With a starting price of $799, this latest iteration aims to capture a broader market, positioning itself as a direct Windows-based challenger to more entry-level premium laptops.
The move comes as an expansion of the Galaxy Book 6 series, which debuted at CES earlier this year. While the initial models launched in March carried a starting price tag of $1,050, and a high-end Snapdragon X2 Elite-powered variant was introduced in June for $2,100, this new addition offers a significantly more accessible entry point for consumers.
Performance and Customization
Under the hood, the new Galaxy Book 6 is powered by Intel’s Core 3 or Core 5 processors, offering users a choice based on their specific performance needs and regional availability. Samsung has built flexibility into the hardware, allowing customers to configure the device with 8GB or 16GB of RAM, alongside storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB.
The device features a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and an anti-glare finish, designed to reduce eye strain during extended work sessions. Portability is a major highlight, with the laptop boasting an impressive battery life of up to 25 hours on a single charge. For those on the move, it also includes 45W fast-charging capabilities to minimize downtime.
Connectivity and Design
Despite its competitive price point, the laptop does not skimp on connectivity. It comes equipped with two USB Type-C ports, a USB Type-A port, an HDMI 1.4 port, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of peripherals.
Aesthetically, the new model arrives in two colorways: the classic Gray and a new Violet Silver option, marking the first time this color has been made available within the Galaxy Book 6 lineup.
AI Integration and Ecosystem Features
As is the trend with modern hardware, Samsung has integrated a suite of AI-powered tools into the user experience. Notable features include “AI Select,” which simplifies the process of selecting content on the screen, and “Note Assist,” an intelligent tool that summarizes notes and highlights key information for quick review.
Furthermore, the laptop leans heavily into the Samsung ecosystem. Users can seamlessly sync and share files across their other Galaxy devices and utilize a Galaxy Tab as a secondary display, creating a fluid workflow for power users.
The new Galaxy Book 6 is currently available in select markets, with Samsung expecting the lower price point to significantly broaden the appeal of its latest PC offerings.
