‘Irumudi’ Box Office: Ravi Teja Starrer Crosses Rs 142 Crore Mark in India
Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s latest cinematic outing, Irumudi, continues its steady march at the box office. Despite entering its second week, the emotional drama is holding its ground, recently crossing a significant domestic milestone. On its 12th day of release—the second Tuesday—the film recorded a net India collection of Rs 5.90 crore, bringing its cumulative domestic net total to an impressive Rs 142.05 crore.
A Steady Performance Amid Mid-Week Trends
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film witnessed a marginal decline of 10.6% on its second Tuesday, down from the Rs 6.60 crore earned on the previous day. While mid-week dips are standard in theatrical runs, the consistent footfall across 2,666 shows highlights the audience’s continued interest in the film’s narrative.
The Telugu version remains the primary driver of the film’s success, contributing Rs 5.89 crore from 2,638 shows. The Tamil version added a modest Rs 1 lakh to the tally. In terms of audience engagement, the Telugu version saw a healthy overall occupancy rate of 34.54% on Tuesday, with a notable surge in evening and night screenings, which recorded 39.62% and 40.38% occupancy respectively.
Regional and Global Reach
Regionally, the film remains a powerhouse in the Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which contributed a combined gross of Rs 6.25 crore on day 12 alone. Secondary markets also continue to chip in, with Karnataka reporting Rs 50 lakhs and Tamil Nadu adding Rs 5 lakhs to the day’s intake.
Beyond domestic borders, the film is performing steadily in international territories. Adding Rs 50 lakhs from overseas markets on Tuesday, the movie’s total overseas gross has reached Rs 21.50 crore. This brings the Irumudi box office collection to a worldwide gross of Rs 186.50 crore. With the Rs 190 crore mark well within reach, industry experts are closely watching to see if the film can sustain its momentum to hit the coveted Rs 200 crore club.
Exploring the Emotional Core
Directed with a focus on human relationships, Irumudi has resonated with audiences for its poignant exploration of fatherhood. The film follows the character of Trinadha (Ravi Teja), a devoted Ayyappa follower battling alcoholism, and his complex bond with his daughter, Manikanta (played by Baby Nakshathra). The narrative contrasts his journey with that of Gopal Raju (Sai Kumar) and his daughter, Gayathri, offering a compelling look at the varying challenges of parenthood.
