UPESSC Sets Up Expert Committee to Address UPTET 2026 Result Grievances
Prayagraj: In a move to ensure transparency and address widespread concerns among test-takers, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has officially constituted a five-member committee. This specialized panel is tasked with reviewing the mounting representations and complaints filed by candidates regarding the recently declared UPTET result 2026.
The results for the written examination, conducted under Advertisement No. 01/2026, were formally released on August 26. Since the announcement, the commission has been inundated with feedback from students who expressed dissatisfaction with their scores, prompting the authorities to establish a formal grievance redressal mechanism.
A Structured Review Process
According to the official notice released by the UPESSC, the newly appointed five-member committee has been mandated to conduct a comprehensive audit of all grievances received. The process will follow a two-tier approach:
- Detailed Investigation: The committee will scrutinize every aspect of the complaints and representations submitted by candidates.
- Resolution: Upon completion of their review, the committee will submit a formal report to the commission. The UPESSC will then make final decisions regarding the individual cases based on the findings of this report.
Submission Channels for Candidates
Recognizing the need for accessible communication, the commission is accepting representations through multiple channels. Candidates who still wish to voice concerns can reach out via:

- In-Person: Candidates also have the option to visit the UPESSC office to submit their grievances physically.
UPTET 2026: By the Numbers
The UPTET 2026 examination was a massive undertaking, held over three days from July 2 to July 4. The test was administered across 955 centers spanning 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The final results highlighted a significant turnout:
- Primary Level (Classes 1-5): Out of 7,13,648 candidates who appeared, 5,71,435 passed, resulting in an impressive pass percentage of 80.07%.
- Upper Primary Level (Classes 6-8): Participation was higher at this level, with 10,57,021 candidates appearing. A total of 7,59,513 candidates qualified, marking a pass rate of 80.65%.
The examination also saw strong participation from working teachers. At the primary level, 76.29% (93,387 out of 1,22,405) of appearing teachers qualified, while at the upper primary level, 77.45% (1,13,384 out of 1,46,394) achieved success.
With the formation of this expert committee, the UPESSC aims to provide a definitive resolution to the candidates’ concerns, ensuring that the integrity of the selection process remains intact.
