Years after the film’s release, veteran actor Darshan Jariwala has opened up about the palpable chemistry he witnessed between Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif during their extensive filming schedule in Ooty.

Chemistry Fueled by Personal Experience

At the time of the film’s production, the personal lives of the lead actors were a subject of intense public speculation. Ranbir Kapoor was widely believed to be in a relationship with Deepika Padukone, while Katrina Kaif was linked to Salman Khan. Addressing the complexities of the set dynamics, Jariwala praised director Rajkumar Santoshi’s vision. “I wasn’t aware of the personal dynamics, but I know it was a great casting coup by Santoshi Ji,” he stated. “The entire scene between Salman and Ranbir is very funny; it was genius of Santoshi Ji to work out those things.”

Professionalism Under the Spotlight

When asked if the trio felt any tension while filming their scenes together given the external media noise, Jariwala remained dismissive of any perceived drama. He praised Ranbir Kapoor for being “supremely confident” and noted that Salman Khan’s sheer presence was enough to elevate the scene.

“Salman is destiny’s child,” Jariwala added. “For him to be present is enough. He was playing himself in the film, so Santoshi Ji didn’t need to give him any specific cues.”

The chemistry between Ranbir and Katrina eventually transitioned into a high-profile real-life relationship that lasted for several years before the pair parted ways in 2016.
