Apple Sets Historic September Launch: Eight New Products Poised to Hit Shelves

September is shaping up to be one of the most significant months in Apple’s recent history. With a series of major hardware updates already announced and a marquee event just days away, the company is preparing to release a total of eight new products by the end of the month.

The flurry of activity follows last month’s announcement of the refreshed Mac mini and Mac Studio lineups. Both desktop powerhouses are scheduled to begin shipping to customers on Tuesday, September 22, aligning them with the rollout of Apple’s next generation of mobile devices.

A Busy Calendar

The focal point of the month remains Apple’s annual fall event, themed “Surprise and shine.” Scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, the event is expected to serve as the launchpad for the rest of the company’s 2026 hardware portfolio.

According to reports on Apple’s massive product rollout, the following devices are slated for release this month:

  • Mac mini (M6 and M5 Pro): Starting at $899, these updated models bring significant performance gains to the compact desktop.
  • Mac Studio (M5 Max and M5 Ultra): With a starting price of $2,499, these units (excluding the 512GB memory configuration) ship on September 22.
  • iPhone 18 Pro & iPhone 18 Pro Max: The flagship smartphones will debut the A20 Pro chip. The Pro Max model is expected to feature a larger battery and an exclusive camera upgrade, while both models will sport a refined, smaller Dynamic Island.
  • Foldable “iPhone Ultra”: The long-awaited foldable is expected to debut with a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch internal screen. Despite earlier rumors suggesting a delay, industry analysts anticipate a release window synchronized with the Pro lineup.
  • Apple Watch Series 12 & Apple Watch Ultra 4: Both wearables will feature the updated S12 chip, with the Series 12 focusing on refined fitness-tracking capabilities.
  • AirPods 5: Recently referenced in macOS 26.7, these new earbuds are poised to launch alongside the latest iPhone models.

Shifting iPhone Strategy

Notably, Apple is breaking from tradition this year by omitting a standard “iPhone 18” from the September event. Instead, the company is leaning into a premium-only strategy for its fall launch. Budget-conscious consumers will have to wait until spring 2027, when the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 are expected to arrive. Additionally, there are no plans to refresh the Apple Watch SE this year.

Addressing the “Ultra” Rumors

While speculation swirled regarding a potential supply chain delay for the foldable “iPhone Ultra,” recent commentary from industry insiders has quelled those fears. Most analysts now expect the device to hit the market in lockstep with the iPhone 18 Pro, or within a very short window thereafter, effectively dismissing the narrative of a late-autumn delay.

With the Mac Studio’s top-tier 512GB memory configuration the sole outlier—expected to arrive in late October—the remainder of September represents a massive logistical push for Apple as it looks to dominate the consumer electronics space for the remainder of the year.
