KTR Releases “Charge Sheet” Against Congress Government, Marking 1,000 Days of Telangana Rule

HYDERABAD – The political climate in Telangana reached a boiling point this week as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) launched a blistering critique of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Marking the 1,000-day milestone of the Congress administration, KTR released a formal “charge sheet” against the government, characterizing its tenure not as public governance, but as “1,000 days of public oppression.”

In an exclusive interview, KTR condemned the Chief Minister’s recent political rhetoric, specifically targeting a controversial “bull vs pig” analogy used by Reddy to disparage former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).

KTR argued that the Chief Minister’s language signals a troubling decline in political standards. “[The] absolute lack of culture and basic parliamentary decorum is reflected in the language used by the Chief Minister,” KTR stated. “Instead of focusing on governance, he has reduced political discourse to gutter-level insults.”

The controversy stems from a recent public address where CM Reddy compared his political standing to KCR’s using a traditional Telugu adage. Reddy had questioned KCR’s recent absence from active politics by suggesting the difference between them was akin to the difference between a ‘Nandi’ (sacred bull) and a ‘Pandi’ (pig).

Beyond the war of words, KTR leveled grave allegations against the current administration, citing widespread corruption. He claimed that the Chief Minister’s own family is profiting from illicit land deals and complex commission networks. The BRS leader went so far as to claim that the administrative and land-related scams occurring under the current regime are “exponentially bigger” than the MUDA scandal currently roiling Karnataka, asserting that the Chief Minister has lost the moral authority to hold office.

KTR also took aim at the government’s international standing, mocking reports of a denied US trip for the Chief Minister as evidence of a “silly government” that is “kneeling before Delhi.” He alleged that the current administration has compromised the state’s self-respect for political survival, noting that even routine international clearances have become hurdles.

In response to what he describes as the systemic failure of the Congress government across key sectors, KTR announced a significant shift in his party’s strategy. He revealed plans to embark on a statewide padyatra (foot march) next year. The initiative is intended to connect directly with the electorate, expose the Congress party’s failure to fulfill its campaign promises, and build momentum for the return of a KCR-led BRS government.
