Frontier Developments Partners With Disney for New Management Simulation Game

Frontier Developments, the powerhouse studio behind critically acclaimed titles such as Planet Coaster and the Jurassic World Evolution series, has officially announced a major partnership with Disney. The collaboration will see the British developer create an entirely new title leveraging Disney’s vast intellectual property library.

While details regarding the game’s specific theme, title, and release window remain under wraps, the company confirmed that the project is being fully funded by Frontier. According to a formal press release, the upcoming title will leverage the studio’s industry-leading expertise in the Creative Management Simulation (CMS) genre, a category where Frontier has consistently set the standard.

“We are delighted to announce this collaboration with Disney, which further reinforces our clearly defined strategy of developing and nurturing world-class creative management simulation game franchises,” said Jonny Watts, CEO of Frontier Developments. “Our mission with this game is to connect a passionate creative community of players with one of the world’s most iconic and beloved brands, and I can’t wait to see what our talented teams will create with this amazing opportunity.”

The announcement arrives during a pivotal period for the studio. Frontier is preparing to release its quarterly earnings next week, shortly after revealing that Planet Zoo 2 is scheduled for an October launch. The highly anticipated sequel aims to expand the series’ scope by introducing flying and aquatic creatures, while simultaneously launching across a wider array of platforms than its predecessor.

Beyond the Disney project and Planet Zoo 2, the studio has confirmed it is developing another unannounced management title, though it remains tight-lipped about the premise. Frontier’s recent momentum—bolstered by the success of Jurassic World Evolution—has firmly positioned the developer as the go-to studio for high-fidelity management simulations.

As for what the Disney collaboration might entail, the gaming community has already begun to speculate. While some suggest a game set within a fictional Disney universe, many long-time fans of the genre are hopeful for a theme park management game that allows players to design and operate their own versions of iconic Disney parks. For now, we will have to wait for further updates from Frontier’s development teams.
