Sony Pictures Networks India has appointed Devika Prabhu as Business Head – Hindi Movies. She joins the network after her stint at The Walt Disney Company.
Prabhu shared the development in a post on LinkedIn, saying, “Every story has its turning points. And sometimes, journeys come full circle. I am excited to share that I’m beginning a new chapter with Sony Pictures Networks India as Business Head – Hindi Movies.”
She added that the move also marks a return to the company. “Earlier in my career, I spent several years at SPNI working on strategic planning for Sony Entertainment Television – so returning now feels particularly special,” she wrote.
At Disney, Prabhu most recently served as Vice President and Business Head for Kids, Youth and Infotainment TV, where she oversaw the Disney Kids and National Geographic portfolios. In that role, she managed business strategy and operations, including content production, programming, acquisitions, marketing and partnerships.
Before that, she held several leadership positions across content, marketing and programming within Disney’s media networks in India. Her roles included Vice President and Head Of Content, Marketing and Product for Kids and Youth TV, Executive Director for Content and Programming, and leadership responsibilities in programming and acquisitions for Disney’s kids’ channels.
Earlier in her career, she worked at Sony’s former entity, Multi Screen Media, now SPNI, as Assistant Vice President for Strategic Planning and Research.
