The M4 Prince of Wales Bridge is closed in the eastbound direction after a crash, affecting all drivers heading across the bridge towards Bristol.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area as traffic cameras show standstill traffic with tailbacks building.
A spokesperson for Traffic Wales said: “M4 Westbound Prince of Wales Bridge.
“We currently have a temporary closure eastbound for the collection of debris after earlier collision.
“Please currently avoid the area.”
