She suffered a “serious” injury and was taken to hospital
A woman is in hospital with a “serious” leg injury after she was hit by a van. Emergency services were called to Leathers Lane in Halewood at around 8.45am on Tuesday, April 14 after a pedestrian was hit by a blue Citroen van.
The woman was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury. Merseyside Police arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of drug driving and careless driving. He is currently in police custody for questioning, the force said.
Road closures were put in place on Leathers Lane, Higher Road and Torrington Drive following the incident. Traffic management system IRNIX has since reported the roads have reopened.
Police are appealing for any witnesses, anyone with CCTV and dash camera footage of the incident which may assist the investigation to contact them.
