Ed Sheeran’s Hindi Song sparks ‘King’ Soundtrack Speculation

Speculation around Ed Sheeran potentially joining the soundtrack of King has intensified, though no official confirmation has been made.

The rumours gained traction after composer Anirudh Ravichander addressed the possibility in a recent interview, leaving fans intrigued but cautious.

Anirudh confirmed he is composing the music for King, directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Shah Rukh Khan alongside his daughter Suhana Khan.

The film is slated for a Christmas 2026 release, with reports pointing to a 24 December premiere, adding to the anticipation surrounding the project.

King is already being described as one of Shah Rukh Khan’s most anticipated films, with significant buzz around its casting and soundtrack.

Interest in Ed Sheeran’s involvement stems from his earlier revelation that he recorded a Hindi song for a Shah Rukh Khan film.

At the time, the singer did not name the project, but fans quickly began connecting the dots following updates about King.

In a behind-the-scenes clip linked to his track ‘Sapphire’, Ed clarified that the Hindi song was for a Bollywood film starring Shah Rukh Khan.

This detail further fuelled speculation, especially as King is Shah Rukh Khan’s next major release.

With Anirudh already attached as composer, many fans believe the collaboration could naturally align with the film’s soundtrack.

However, Anirudh’s own comments suggest that any collaboration remains uncertain rather than confirmed.

He said: “That was just an idea. It hasn’t been executed yet, but it may happen… either that or something big is on the cards.”

His statement leaves the possibility open while indicating that discussions may still be in their early stages.

Beyond the speculation, King continues to generate headlines for its scale and significance.

The film marks the first full-length feature pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan, a major moment for Bollywood audiences.

Reports also describe King as a high profile action entertainer with a large ensemble cast, adding to its blockbuster appeal.

Pre-release excitement has been particularly strong following the film’s title reveal and Shah Rukh Khan’s striking look, which sparked widespread online discussion.

While Ed Sheeran’s potential involvement remains unconfirmed, the speculation has undoubtedly amplified curiosity around the film’s music.

For now, the collaboration sits firmly in the realm of possibility, with fans waiting for an official announcement from the film’s team or the artist himself.
