One of the most senior figures at a crisis-hit health board has been removed from his position, we can reveal. Dan Crossland is no longer acting as director of operations for mental health at Cardiff and Vale university health board, though it is believed he remains an employee.
In the last year WalesOnline has revealed a stunning series of failings at the health board, which runs the University Hospital of Wales and various other facilities. Last July the Welsh Government announced a “targeted intervention” into the organisation – one step short of special measures – due to “serious concerns” over governance, culture and safety.
