A man has been charged with attempted murder after a hit-and-run incident. Police officers were called to Jennifer Avenue in Everton at around 6.25pm on Tuesday, April 14, after a blue Peugeot van was involved in a collision with a man.
The van failed to stop at the scene and drove off in the direction of Scotland Road before it was later found abandoned on Latimer Street in Vauxhall. The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered a serious head injury as a result of the incident before being taken to hospital.
He has since been discharged, Merseyside Police said. A large cordon was put in place following the collision and a woman was arrested the following day on suspicion of assisting an offender.
In an update yesterday (Thursday, May 7), the force said three people were arrested by officers in connection with the incident.
A 34-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug (cocaine).
Thomas Conder, 35, of Hopwood Street, Liverpool, has now been charged with attempted murder and will appear at South Sefton Magistrates’ Court today, May 8.
A 33-year-old man from Liverpool has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug (cocaine) and possession of a controlled drug class B (cannabis).
And, a 29-year-old woman from Liverpool has been re-arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and additionally with possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug (cocaine).
They have both been conditionally bailed following their arrests.
