This temporary closure was announced shortly before 9am this morning (Sunday, May 10) by Great Western Railway (GWR).
Several Oxfordshire to London trains and vice versa pass through Reading, meaning multiple connections have been cancelled or delayed this morning.

Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident near the railway between London Paddington and Reading all lines are closed.

A statement from the train service on the social media site X said: “Travel update.
“Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident near the railway between London Paddington and Reading, all lines are closed.
“Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled or delayed.
“Disruption is expected until 11am.
“Check your journey online and follow us for updates.”
