Lane Electronics adds HellermannTyton heat shrink range

The components are widely used for insulation and environmental protection across sectors such as aerospace, defence, automotive, rail and renewable energy. They are designed to safeguard interconnect systems from mechanical stress, moisture and chemical exposure, while also providing strain relief for cable assemblies.

The range offered by Lane Electronics includes both adhesive-lined and standard moulded shapes, available as individual components or as part of complete solutions assembled by its sister company, Weald Electronics. Heat‑shrink boots are used to create sealed transitions between connectors and cables, helping to ensure long-term reliability in harsh operating conditions. The products are engineered to provide strong electrical insulation, mechanical durability and resistance to chemicals and environmental factors.

In addition to connector boots, the portfolio includes transition shapes, breakout configurations and end caps, which are typically used to protect cable harness junctions in more complex assemblies. The materials are designed to deliver consistent performance while supporting ease of installation.

Lane Electronics is also supplying heat‑shrink tubing from the SE28 series, which is increasingly being specified for high-performance applications. The tubing, made from cross‑linked elastomer, offers resistance to fuels and hydraulic fluids and operates across a wide temperature range, from -75°C to +150°C, making it suitable for demanding environments such as motorsport and aerospace.

The company is offering a selection of established HellermannTyton part series, including straight and right‑angle boot designs commonly used in aerospace and defence applications. To assist customers, Lane Electronics has introduced a cross-reference tool that enables engineers to match parts with equivalent products previously specified from other suppliers.

The addition of the HellermannTyton range reflects continued demand for robust interconnect protection solutions as electronic systems are deployed in increasingly challenging environments.
