“See you at Mugello”: with these words, Marc Marquez has confirmed his participation in the Italian Grand Prix. About two weeks ago, the Spanish champion underwent two surgeries. One was on the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, which he fractured during the Sprint race at the Le Mans GP, and the other was on his right shoulder (the one injured in Indonesia last year) because a pin had shifted, pressing against the radial nerve, and another had broken.
Marc underwent a medical checkup today, and the doctors gave him the green light to head to Mugello. As is standard procedure, the circuit doctors will have to give him the final OK on Thursday morning to get on the bike.
Marquez skipped his home GP in Barcelona and now wants to try racing in the Italian GP without wasting any more time. He posted some photos on social media, one of which shows him still wearing a brace on his left foot. Currently, he trails leader Marco Bezzecchi by 83 points in the overall standings.
