A man is in hospital after falling from a window in Newcastle city centre. Emergency services were called to High Bridge in the early hours of Friday morning after a welfare concern report.
Pictures taken on Friday morning showed a police cordon on the city centre alley, with smashed glass inside the cordon. The man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “At 3.45am today (Friday), we received a report of concern for the welfare of a person on Grey Street in Newcastle city centre. It was reported that a man had fallen from a window onto the ground below.
“Emergency services attended and the man – in his 40s – has been taken to hospital for treatment of injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.”
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 3.10am on Friday 29 May to reports of an incident on Grey Street, Newcastle.
“We dispatched an ambulance crew and a specialist paramedic to the scene and transported one patient to hospital for further treatment.”
