Everything we know as girl arrested and three injured in stabbings at Manchester school
- Greater Manchester Police are responding to an incident at a high school in Manchester – Co-op Academy on Plant Hill Road in Higher Blackley.
- The school is reportedly on ‘lockdown’ and pictures from the scene show a huge emergency services presence, with police and ambulance vehicles pictured outside the school gates and inside the school grounds.

- A helicopter is also reportedly flying overhead.
- GMP has released a statement, saying a schoolgirl has been arrested and three people, who aren’t further described, have been injured.
- The Manchester Evening News understands the three people injured suffered injuries consistent with a knife.
- In the statement, police said the injuries, thankfully, ‘aren’t believed to be serious at this time’.
- GMP said: “Emergency services remain on scene and we are supporting the school. There is not believed to be any wider threat to the pupils and staff in the school.”
- The school’s headteacher has said it will remain shut for the rest of the day.
