Man Utd news: Marcus Rashford transfer talks open as record-breaking deal struck

Manchester United were set to be busy in the summer transfer window but the club have been doing deals away from the pitch too after a record-breaking agreement was struck

Michael Carrick continues to drive sweeping changes at Manchester United as a fresh chapter begins at Old Trafford. The Red Devils legend has already made his mark on the squad but is poised to distance himself even further from his predecessor Ruben Amorim.

This comes after the club secured a record-breaking agreement that has seen them beat the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City. Carrick has already restored United to their rightful place by delivering a Champions League return and has more milestones in his sights.

Meanwhile, the club is eager to make headway on Marcus Rashford’s transfer situation following his loan spell at Barcelona. The Daily Star Sport brings together today’s key stories as United look to accelerate two major deals both on and off the field.

United are poised to receive the full Amazon treatment after reports emerged they’ll become the next club featured in an ‘All Or Nothing’ documentary series. Carrick’s first full campaign in charge will be documented in unprecedented detail following confirmation United have struck a bumper deal to go behind the scenes.

No previous All Or Nothing production can rival the reported £10million United will allegedly pocket for the privilege. That exceeds what Arsenal, Tottenham or Manchester City earned from their respective agreements.

It’s claimed the club was also contacted to permit film crews access behind the scenes while Ruben Amorim was at the helm. Nevertheless, the Portuguese manager was apparently far more hesitant about the concept than his replacement.

The fact Carrick has consented to the comprehensive coverage occurring during such a pivotal season suggests a certain degree of self-assurance from the boss. Meanwhile, Amorim might be deemed justified in his rejection of cameras last term following his sacking in January.

It’s understood filming will start shortly, beginning with United’s pre-season European tour. The All Or Nothing production team will also shadow the club’s women’s and academy squads throughout the 2026/27 season.

Rashford subject of Bayern inquiry

After witnessing a dream transfer to Barcelona collapse, Rashford could still link up with another European heavyweight. Fabrizio Romano revealed Bayern Munich have declared their interest and approached officials at Old Trafford regarding a potential deal.

He mentioned on his podcast that contact has been made by the Bundesliga champions. Barcelona have apparently abandoned their pursuit of a permanent transfer for Rashford despite his stellar loan spell at the Camp Nou.

Los Cules have splashed a massive £70m to secure England colleague Anthony Gordon from Newcastle in an even clearer indication the arrangement is now finished. Bayern, however, are making their own manoeuvres and recently confirmed a £45m agreement has been struck to acquire PSV and Morocco ace Ismael Saibari.

That could signal they have also shifted away from Rashford, though, given they operate in comparable roles. Any switch to Bavaria would see Rashford team up with Three Lions skipper Harry Kane.

Nevertheless, the deal for Morocco talisman Saibari may indicate Die Roten have already identified their target to help plug that gap in attack.
