TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – West Java is taking steps to develop Muslim-friendly tourism. According to data from the West Java Tourism and Culture Office (Disbudpar), there are 149 destinations covering natural, artificial, and cultural attractions.
From these options, nine destinations are being prepared for the national level. The list is based on facilities, services, and readiness to meet the needs of Muslim tourists.
These nine destinations are Lembang Park and Zoo, Water Kingdom, The Nice Funtastic Park, Sari Ater Hot Spring, Pantai Balongan Indah, Kawah Putih, Pondok Pesantren Modern Zikir Al Fath, Kampung Pulo, and Gunung Padang.

Currently, West Java ranks first in the Indonesia Muslim Travel Index among 15 provinces. Its advantages lie in service quality, environmental sustainability, and strong promotion. However, challenges remain, especially regarding accessibility. Transportation convenience for foreign tourists is an area for continuous improvement.
Developing Tour Routes
According to Rispiaga, officials are designing specific travel routes for international tourists, such as those from Malaysia and the Middle East.
The journey begins at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, followed by a high-speed train trip to Bandung. The route includes Subang for hot springs, then explorations of Greater Bandung, Cianjur, and Bogor before departure. Future development will focus on interregional connectivity, including routes to Cirebon and East Priangan to provide a comprehensive travel experience.
