Chase Heatherly named Georges Media chief revenue officer | Business News


Chase Heatherly, a veteran media executive, has joined the parent company of The Times-Picayune and The Advocate as its chief revenue officer.

The former chief revenue officer of The Post & Courier parent Evening Post Publishing in South Carolina, Heatherly, 34, joined Georges Media at the end of June. He will be responsible for leading the sales teams across all of the Louisiana-based media company’s brands, according to an internal company announcement.

“Chase’s experience scaling revenue organizations, growing digital businesses, and leading through transformation makes him an outstanding fit for where we are headed as a company,” said Publisher Kevin Hall. “This is an important step forward for Georges Media as we continue to invest in leadership that supports our long-term growth and positions us for continued success.”

A South Carolina native, Heatherly led sales at Evening Post after stints at Gannett, McClatchy and other media organizations, including as president of King & Columbus, a marketing agency in the state.

Heatherly joins Georges Media as the locally owned media company is expanding across Louisiana and into adjacent markets, including along the Gulf Coast.

Local news outlets across the country are facing big new challenges in the accelerating digital era, though some companies with strong local brands and independent ownership are managing to weather the changes.

In recent years, Georges Media has acquired local Louisiana brands with strong followings, including Arthur Hardy’s Mardi Gras Guide, and has expanded coverage into new markets, such as Shreveport-Bossier and Lake Charles.

In addition to its growth digitally and its acquisitions, the company has also launched new print offerings, including an expanded business section and coverage focused on health.

Heatherly said he’s ready to take on the challenge of growing those businesses.

“I have seen firsthand the leadership and innovation that Georges Media brings to our industry and the commitment its staff has to serving readers and the community at large,” he said. “I am excited to dive in and contribute.”
