A NURSERY has been praised for its “culture of teamwork, trust and continuous improvement” in a glowing Ofsted report.
Partou Yeadon Day Nursery and Pre-school in Nunroyd Park, Yeadon, was commended by inspectors for its approach to early years education, highlighting strong relationships and inclusive practice.
The report was published under Ofsted’s renewed framework for early years settings, which focuses on safeguarding and a broad range of evaluation areas: inclusion; curriculum and teaching; achievement; behaviour, attitudes and establishing routines; children’s welfare and wellbeing; and leadership and governance.
Tia Whitehouse, nursery manager at Partou Yeadon, said: “We are proud of our warm and stimulating learning environment, which is so important for the children’s development, together with the strong bonds that have been established with the families.
“It is pleasing to see that these and numerous other aspects of everyday life at Partou Yeadon have been recognised and complimented by the Ofsted inspector.”
The report describes the setting as “welcoming,” with children enjoying their time, receiving “warm greetings from staff,” and developing strong relationships.
It notes that children “demonstrate kindness and a caring attitude towards their friends” and “are valued as individuals.”
The nursery achieved the expected standard in all six key evaluation areas, and safeguarding standards were deemed to be ‘met’.
Ofsted praised the variety of activities on offer, noting: “The varied range of activities reflects their interests and abilities and is closely aligned to their next steps in learning.”
Children with special educational needs and disabilities were found to be making appropriate progress from their starting points due to the inclusive environment.
Inspectors also highlighted the nursery’s approach to working with families.
They wrote that the team works closely with families “to build strong relationships, enabling them to gather detailed information about each child’s individual needs, interests and home circumstances.”
This was followed by: “This partnership ensures that children receive consistent, personalised support that responds to both their development and daily changes in their lives.”
Leadership and governance were commended, with the report stating that “leaders maintain appropriate expectations for staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, trust and continuous improvement that supports children and families.”

Partou Yeadon is set in a converted Victorian house within Nunroyd Park, offering spacious indoor and outdoor learning environments.
