Chhattisgarh Board cancelled Class 12 Hindi exam after paper leak claims. Re-exam will be held on April 10. Decision taken to ensure fairness. Strict rules introduced to prevent future exam leaks.
After reports of a paper leak, the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) has decided to conduct the Class 12 Hindi exam again. As per the official notice, the Higher Secondary (Class 12) Hindi paper (code 010/810), which was held on March 14, 2026, has been cancelled and treated as ‘null and void’ due to claims of tampering and illegal sharing.
Just one day after the exam, discussions about the paper leak started spreading online on March 15 and 16, 2026. After a proper investigation into these claims, the board decided to cancel the exam.
The board said that this decision was taken after carefully checking all reports and evidence. In a meeting held on March 23, the examination committee found that the fairness of the exam was affected. To make sure no student gets an unfair advantage, the board has decided to take the exam again.
“In accordance with the committee’s decision, the Hindi subject examination conducted on March 14 is hereby cancelled,” the notice stated, and it also mentioned that the exam will be conducted again on a new date.
Re-exam date and timing
The re-exam will be held on April 10, 2026, from 9 AM to 12:15 PM. Students must reach their exam centres by 9 AM. Answer sheets will be given at 9 AM, and the question paper will be distributed at 9:05 AM. Students will get 5 minutes to read the paper from 9:05 AM to 9:10 AM. Writing of answers will start at 9:15 AM and continue till 12:15 PM.
The exam will be based on the same syllabus. Even if April 10 is declared a holiday, the exam will still take place as planned.
This issue came shortly after the Chhattisgarh Assembly passed a new law to stop paper leaks and unfair practices. The law includes strict punishment, such as up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore, to maintain fairness in exams.
