AC, Swimming Pool, Washing Machine: African Student’s Hindi Election Speech At AMU Goes Viral | TOI Shorts

A lively cultural programme at Aligarh Muslim University recently gained viral attention after a student’s humorous Hindi speech captivated audiences. Held at Nadeem Tareen Hall, the performance featured Ayyubi, a second-year B.Tech student from Africa, whose confident and energetic stage presence drew loud cheers. Inspired by the iconic character Chatur Ramalingam from 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Ayyubi recreated the exaggerated tone and comic style made famous by Omi Vaidya. His speech humorously addressed hostel life challenges, especially Aligarh’s intense summer heat. Promising exaggerated comforts like air conditioners, washing machines, and frequent tea, he blended satire with relatability, earning widespread laughter, applause, and appreciation both on campus and across social media platforms.
