Air India has selected seats from Recaro for the Economy and Premium Economy cabins for the refit of its B787-8 fleet.
The state carrier has opted for PL3530 seats in Premium Economy Class and CL3710 seats in Economy Class, aligning it with the cabin of the airline’s recently delivered 787-9 aircraft. Both seat models are to be customised to Air India’s requirements with improved recline, adjustable headrests, and integrated personal electronic device charging options.

One aircraft has been completed. while the entire retrofit program covers a total of 26 aircraft. In total, nearly 6,000 Recaro seats will be installed across Air India’s B787-8 fleet.
