Aldi issues urgent recall of popular fish item over packaging mistake

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Aldi have issued the notice online. They said: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling The FishMonger Hot Smoked 2 Salmon Fillets – Honey Roasted because the incorrect Use By Date is printed on the pack.”

The incorrect date on the package makes the fish item unsafe to eat.

Product details:

Produce name: The Fismonger Hot Smoked 2 Salmon Fillets – Honey Roasted

The correct use-by date for the food item is April 25, 2026.

Aldi said: “Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”

For further information, customers are advised to visit help.aldi.co.uk/s or phone customer services on 0800 042 0800.

They are recalling all date codes up to and including April 2027 due to the potential presence of plastic in the food item.

If you have purchased the affected product, the supermarket urges customers to return it to any Tesco store for a full refund.
