New Bollywood releases including Ek Din, Krishnavataram, and Daadi Ki Shaadi have failed to capture audience attention, with the turnout being very poor. Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla, which released almost a month ago, has continued to remain the top choice for moviegoers.
In its fourth weekend, the horror-comedy earned around Rs. 9 crores nett, which is higher than the weekend figures of all the new releases individually. Raja Shivaji is doing well, but its impact has largely remained limited to the Marathi audience, with Hindi numbers being moderate.
Akshay Kumar’s film continues to feed theatres with consistent occupancies and sustained momentum. In India, the film has earned over Rs. 160 crores nett and is set to draw crowds for at least two more weeks.
Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, late Asrani ji, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar, and Paresh Rawal in key roles.
