Jennie of BLACKPINK Announces Highly Anticipated Solo EP ‘Fallen Angel’

JAKARTA – Global music sensation and Jennie of the iconic K-pop group BLACKPINK has officially set the date for her highly anticipated return to the music scene. The multi-talented artist is slated to release her new digital EP, Fallen Angel, on August 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. KST.

An Ethereal Return

The announcement came via her management agency, OA (ODDATELIER), on Friday, August 21, as the label pulled back the curtain on the project’s creative direction. Fans were treated to an enchanting album cover featuring the star draped in a white gown against a lush, floral backdrop—an aesthetic that evokes a whimsical, fairy-tale atmosphere.

Accompanying the visuals, a brief trailer offered listeners an exclusive, high-energy snippet of the EP’s title track, "FALLEN ANGEL," heightening the excitement for her upcoming solo era.

A Personal Journey

Fallen Angel is comprised of three distinct tracks, designed to showcase the singer’s evolution as a solo artist. The mini-album features the title song, "FALLEN ANGEL," the atmospheric track "HEAVEN," and the previously released single "Less than a Lover."

In an official statement shared with Soompi, OA described the record as a deeply personal project. "This album was born from a very personal place, expressing Jennie’s purest self," the agency shared, emphasizing that the collection is intended as an intimate gift to her devoted fanbase.

Building Commercial Momentum

The EP’s success is already being heralded by the strong performance of its pre-release single, "Less Than a Lover." The track has rapidly ascended the domestic charts, reaching No. 49 on South Korea’s prestigious Melon Top 100 chart. This success follows a string of consistent solo hits, including "Mantra" and "Like JENNIE," which have helped maintain her momentum since her previous EP, Ruby.

A Historic Summer

The release of Fallen Angel follows a banner year for the 30-year-old artist. Jennie has spent the summer making waves on the international festival circuit, most notably at Summer Sonic 2026.

Perhaps her most significant milestone occurred on August 1 at Lollapalooza Chicago. In a historic turn for the genre, Jennie became the first K-pop solo artist to headline the world-renowned American festival, commanding the stage at Grant Park for an electrifying hour-long closing set that solidified her status as a global powerhouse.

As the release date for Fallen Angel nears, fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting what promises to be the most intimate and refined chapter of Jennie’s solo career yet.
