Bedford High Street will close overnight tonight (Tuesday, 19 May) while Anglian Water carries out repairs to a water leak.
The closure is expected to begin at 10pm and remain in place until around 6am tomorrow morning (Wednesday, 20 May)

Anglian Water says the work is needed to fix an issue near the High Street, with clearly signed diversion routes set to be in place while repairs are carried out.
The company warned residents and motorists that they may notice engineering teams working in the area overnight.
According to Anglian Water’s maintenance notice, the road closure is currently scheduled between 10pm on Tuesday, 19 May and 6am on Wednesday, 20 May.
The utility company said plans could change if emergency work elsewhere affects the repair schedule.
In an update published online, Anglian Water said: “We wanted to let you know that on 19 May, we’ll be doing some work near you to fix an issue.
“Because of where we need to work, we’ll need to close the road. There’ll be a clearly signed diversion in place until we can reopen the road.”
The company has advised customers that if water supplies are temporarily affected during the works, some discolouration may occur when supplies return.
Residents are being advised to run the cold kitchen tap for a few minutes until the water clears if this happens.
