Despite entering the typical weekday decline, the film, starring Kanagaraj himself and Wamiqa Gabbi, has maintained a relatively stable performance, demonstrating its appeal to a broad audience. Meanwhile, R. Madhavan’s inspiring drama ‘GDN’ is facing an uphill battle, accumulating a modest Rs 4.46 crore globally during the same period.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘DC’ garnered an impressive Rs 5 crore in India net on its sixth day, a manageable decline of approximately 9.9% from its Day 5 collection of Rs 5.55 crore. This robust performance pushes the film’s total India net collection to Rs 37.50 crore, with an India gross of Rs 43.12 crore.
‘DC’ continues to be a multi-language success, with its Tamil version leading the charge. On Day 6, the Tamil version alone contributed Rs 3.40 crore in net earnings. The Telugu version also showed significant promise with Rs 1.40 crore, while the Hindi version added Rs 20 lakhs to the coffers. ‘GDN’ opened with a modest Rs 46 lakhs on Day 1, showing some improvement over the weekend with Rs 84 lakhs on Day 2 and Rs 1.13 crore on Day 3. However, the post-weekend period saw a significant drop in collections. Day 4 brought in Rs 43 lakhs, followed by a further decline to Rs 39 lakhs on Day 5. On Day 6, the Tamil version, which accounts for the majority of its earnings, added just Rs 36 lakhs, bringing its total net earnings to Rs 3.61 crore. Despite featuring R. Madhavan in the lead role and based on an inspiring real-life story, ‘GDN’ has yet to resonate strongly with audiences on a larger scale.
