In the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk, Aslam Rickshawala switches effortlessly between Hindi, English and Spanish as he chats with a group of tourists from Spain. The cheerful interaction has become the latest viral example of why the Delhi rickshaw puller has built a loyal following online.
A video of the interaction began with Aslam introducing himself to the camera before greeting the visitors in Spanish.
“Hello guys, how are you? I am Aslam Rickshawala, and today my client is Spanish,” he said as the group prepared for a walking tour of Old Delhi.
The tourists responded with smiles, saying “Hello” and “Namaste.” One of the women in the group then pointed towards Aslam and said “recommendation,” suggesting that she highly recommended him to others.
“Bohat achcha, bohat achcha (Very good, very good),” the tourist said while gesturing towards Aslam.
The conversation soon turned to the visitors’ experience in India. “So are you good in India?” Aslam asked, prompting the group to reply, “Good India. Old Delhi perfecto.”
When he asked where they were headed next, one of the women responded, “Benaras. Best place in India ever.”
Aslam was overjoyed at the mention of the city. “So now you are going to my home in Varanasi. Very famous. Varanasi is my home. Happy journey. Very beautiful place,” he said.
The tourist replied with a Hindi word of appreciation: “Sundar (Beautiful).”
“So Hindi thoda thoda bolti hai yeh bhi (So she speaks a little Hindi too),” Aslam joked before adding the Spanish phrase “Poco poco (Little by little).” The tourist laughed and repeated the phrase, clearly delighted by the exchange.
The video ended with the group bidding farewell to Aslam before continuing their journey.

Several videos on Aslam’s account show him speaking fluent English with international visitors. In another clip that went viral, Aslam can be seen conversing in German with tourists while taking them around the Red Fort.
Aslam, who has 92,700 followers on social media, regularly shares videos documenting his interactions with foreign tourists visiting Delhi. Over time, he has earned praise online for his ability to communicate with travellers from different parts of the world.
