FOUNDATION DAY, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UBS, RAISES RECORD-BREAKING AMOUNT

Sale Sharks Foundation is proud to announce that this year’s Foundation Day, in partnership with UBS Global Wealth Management, raised a record-breaking £10,679.17.

The matchday event, now in its third year, was the most successful fundraiser to date. Through a silent auction, raffle and generous donations, supporters and partners highlighted their commitment to helping make life-changing differences for communities across the North West.

Taking place when Sale Sharks welcomed Leicester Tigers to the CorpAcq Stadium, the day also showcased the impact of the Foundation’s work, with participants from across our community programmes joining the matchday experience.

In conjunction with Foundation Day sponsors, UBS Global Wealth Management, young people from local schools on the Try2Connect programme, delivered with Place2Be, received tickets to attend the match, while a number also experienced a memorable behind-the-scenes stadium tour led by Josh Beaumont.

Joining them in the stands were participants from the recently completed Engage programme at Hideout and Salford Youth Zones, who all received ‘Foundation Day in partnership with UBS’ t-shirts.

Elsewhere, members of the Foundation’s Sharks Forces programme and the Sale Sharks Down Syndrome Rugby Team, Crusaders Fin Club, were present to share their powerful stories and the impact that Sale Sharks Foundation continues to have on their lives.

Abi Dean, CEO of Sale Sharks Foundation, said:

“Foundation Day was a truly special occasion, with a real sense of community felt throughout. The event continues to grow each year, and we are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown in raising such an amazing amount in support of our work. At the heart of everything we do is our community and helping those who need us most.

“We would also like to thank Sale Sharks and our Foundation Day partners UBS for their support in helping to bring our participant experiences and fundraising opportunities to life.”

Bradley Russell, Head of Manchester and the North West at UBS Global Wealth Management, added:

“The Sale Sharks Foundation Day showed the value of bringing sport, business and the charitable sector together with a shared purpose. We are proud that UBS could support the day, which not only celebrated local communities, but also raised a record-breaking amount to help the Sale Sharks Foundation continue its important work across the North West.

“There is a clear alignment between the work of the Sale Sharks Foundation and the UBS Optimus Foundation, particularly in widening access to opportunity for children and young people. It was especially pleasing to see so many programme participants involved throughout the day and to witness first-hand the impact the Foundation is having in communities across the region.”

The success of Foundation Day reinforces the importance of collaboration in driving social impact and the funds raised can help ensure that Sale Sharks Foundation continues Levelling the Field for communities across the North West.
