US Vice President J.D. Vance engaged in a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, focusing on the expansion of the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership amidst escalating tensions in West Asia.
During their discussion, Prime Minister Modi extended his felicitations to Vice President Vance and Second Lady Usha on the recent birth of their son.
Vance’s call to the Indian Prime Minister followed days after a significant mutual defense pact was inked by Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, an agreement widely perceived as a recalibration of regional alliances in response to the ongoing West Asian conflict.

During their June meeting in France, Prime Minister Modi and US President Donald Trump had instructed their respective officials to expedite efforts towards a balanced, mutually advantageous, and commercially significant trade deal.
Relations between the two nations experienced a notable downturn last year when Washington imposed punitive tariffs on India.
