However, Yash has unequivocally stated that he has no immediate intentions of following a similar path.
During a recent interaction, the acclaimed actor addressed the persistent speculation surrounding his entry into politics, firmly asserting that his primary focus remains on his acting career for the foreseeable future. While he did not entirely rule out the possibility of a political career at some point, his current priorities are firmly rooted in his cinematic endeavors. When directly confronted with the question of whether he would emulate Thalapathy Vijay’s foray into Karnataka politics, Yash emphasized his unwavering dedication to cinema. He articulated, "I feel I still have a lot to do as an actor. Right now, my focus is on how I can position our industry in a better way." He further elaborated that he holds no inherent reservations about politics, viewing it as a mechanism for public service and decision-making. However, he clarified, "If I ever feel there is a need and a possibility in the future, I will think about it. But honestly, I have no such plans right now." This clear statement strongly suggests that, despite his considerable public influence, political aspirations are not on his current agenda.
Beyond the discussions of his political future, Yash also took the opportunity to shed light on the much-debated budget for Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated film, Ramayana. He clarified a prevalent misconception regarding the reported Rs 4,000 crore budget, explaining that this figure encompasses both parts of the epic, along with all associated release and promotional expenditures, rather than solely the first installment. "That is a misconception. The Rs 4,000 crore is for the two-part film, including release and promotion," Yash explained, adding, "It is the Hollywood way of looking at the numbers. The revenue is global too, so the investment has to match that ambition." He passionately advocated for Indian cinema to broaden its horizons beyond domestic markets, viewing films as a potent instrument of cultural diplomacy and soft power on a global scale.
Yash is set to portray the pivotal role of Ravana in Ramayana, starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita. This ambitious two-part epic is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, with Yash also taking on a co-producer role. The worldwide release of Ramayana Part One is slated for November 6, strategically coinciding with the Diwali festivities. Before this grand cinematic event, audiences will see Yash in Toxic, a gangster drama helmed by Geetu Mohandas.
