Grass Valley to Unveil Unified Live Production Ecosystem at IBC2026

AMSTERDAM — As the broadcast industry continues its migration toward flexible, software-defined workflows, Grass Valley is set to demonstrate the future of integrated production at IBC2026. Taking center stage at Booth 9.A01, the company will showcase an expansive, cohesive environment that bridges traditional hardware performance with the agility of cloud-based applications.

The upcoming showcase will feature a deep integration of the company’s flagship technologies—including K-Frame, Maverik X, LiveTouch X, and the AMPP (Agile Media Processing Platform) ecosystem—to provide a seamless experience across switching, replay, audio, and communications.

Bridging Hardware Reliability with Software Agility

For Grass Valley, the goal of this year’s exhibition is to prove that high-stakes live production doesn’t have to sacrifice familiarity for innovation.

“Live production does not leave room for hesitation,” says Greg Huttie, VP of Live Production Solutions at Grass Valley. “Operators need immediate control, predictable performance, and the confidence to make decisions in the moment. At IBC, we are showing how K-Frame continues to provide that trusted live core, while extending its reach across software-based production, replay, venues, and distributed teams.”

Key upgrades to the K-Frame switcher include expanded UltraMatch format conversion, programmable outputs, and seamless integration with Daktronics LED mapping for both broadcast and in-venue displays. Furthermore, by incorporating CUEZ Automate, Grass Valley is enabling sophisticated sequence automation while ensuring operators maintain critical editorial oversight.

Expanding the Maverik X Experience

A major highlight of the IBC presentation will be the continued evolution of Maverik X. By extending familiar control surfaces into the AMPP environment, Grass Valley is allowing users to leverage their existing muscle memory—whether using Korona, Stream Deck, or Skaarhoj panels—while operating in a modern, software-driven workflow.

New capabilities for Maverik X, such as luma keying, WYSIWYG DVE control, and timeline sequence automation, aim to lower the barrier to entry for complex productions.

“Software production should expand what a production team can do, not force it to relearn how to work,” notes Jonathan Lyth, Product Director for Live Applications and Enterprise Media at Grass Valley. “By extending familiar control into AMPP and making the user experience customizable, we can reduce technical complexity and give each operator the controls they need for the production in front of them.”

A Comprehensive Suite for Distributed Workflows

Grass Valley’s integrated live production environment extends far beyond the switcher. The showcase will highlight:

• Replay & Audio: Updates to LiveTouch X include faster navigation and deeper integration with LDX cameras, while Production Replay X brings high-end replay capabilities directly into AMPP. Audio control is bolstered by the Calrec ImPulseV integration and the new browser-based AMPP Commentator tool.
• Connectivity: The inclusion of Zoom ISOcloud allows remote participants to act as live production sources, while NDI, MXMZ, and Flowics provide robust graphics and connectivity options.
• Corporate & Enterprise: The company is also addressing the corporate sector with Event Producer X, a configurable interface designed for town halls and high-end corporate events, supported by Framelight X for media management and Slide Relay for PowerPoint integration.

The Future of Hybrid Media

As the industry shifts away from the “either-or” debate of hardware versus software, Grass Valley is positioning its ecosystem as the unifying force for the “Dynamic Media Facility.”

“Hybrid production is not about choosing hardware or software,” says Lyth. “It is about bringing the right resources together for each production and making them simple for people to operate. That is how AMPP helps customers unify media operations while putting the principles of the Dynamic Media Facility into practice today.”
