Indian hubs turn textile waste to resource


NEW DELHI – India’s massive textile and apparel sector, which accounts for roughly 2% of the country’s GDP and employs over 45 million people, is undergoing a changing approach to circularity.

With international buyers intensifying demands for environmental compliance, traceability, and low-carbon supply chains, momentum around a circular textile economy has shifted from a peripheral goal to a national economic strategy.
