India’s Hero MotoCorp beats quarterly profit expectations


May 5 (Reuters) – Hero MotoCorp, India’s ‌top two-wheeler maker, ‌reported a better-than-expected quarterly ​profit on Tuesday, driven by strong demand in the ‌domestic ⁠market, which accounts for more than ⁠90% of its sales.

The maker ​of ​the ​Splendor motorcycle ‌posted a near 30% rise in fourth-quarter profit to 14.01 billion rupees ($147.04 million), ‌topping analysts’ ​estimates ​of ​13.35 billion rupees, ‌according to data ​compiled ​by LSEG.
