‘It is a noble cause’: Ravi Mariappa continues lifesaving tradition through Blood and Plasma donations

As Australia’s population becomes more diverse, the country’s blood supply also needs to reflect that change. Some patients need blood that is more closely matched to their background. Ravi Mariappa of SEWA Australia, Perth, donates blood and plasma regularly to show support and compassion for the broader community. He appeals to the community to contribute to this noble cause.

Blood donation saves lives. Lifeblood says it needs about 3,000 blood donations every week to meet demand across the country.

Lifeblood is urging more Australians to donate blood, warning that the need is constant and cannot be met without regular donors.
