JBL Just Introduced A Trio Of Wi-Fi Speakers For Whole-Home Audio

JBL Pivots to Home Audio with the Launch of the New ‘Cove’ Speaker Series

JBL, a brand long synonymous with rugged Bluetooth portables and vibrant party speakers, is making a significant strategic shift. The company has officially announced the “Cove” series, a new line of Wi-Fi-enabled speakers designed specifically to compete in the high-demand whole-home audio market.

This move marks a major evolution for the audio giant, moving away from its mobile-first roots to focus on integrated, multi-room home experiences. By entering this space, JBL is directly challenging existing home audio ecosystems, aiming to provide a more cohesive listening experience throughout the house.

Seamless Integration and Home Theater Versatility

The core appeal of the Cove series lies in its connectivity. Using the JBL One app and a Wi-Fi connection, users can effortlessly pair multiple speakers to create a unified audio landscape that extends from room to room. JBL promises a “no-interruption” experience, ensuring that music flows throughout the home without the need to constantly reset or ungroup devices.

Beyond standalone music streaming, the Cove series is designed for modularity. Each speaker can integrate seamlessly with the recently refreshed JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars, allowing users to repurpose the Cove speakers as rear channels to build a robust, immersive home theater system without the clutter of traditional wired setups.

A Three-Tiered Lineup

JBL is launching the series with three distinct models, catering to different price points and use cases:

  • Cove M1 ($230): Positioned as the entry-point for the series, the M1 is designed for standard daily listening. It packs a punch with three tweeters and one woofer, supplemented by AI-driven sound boost technology to optimize audio quality in real-time.
  • Cove P1 ($400): Adding a layer of mobility, the P1 is the series’ battery-powered option. With 14 hours of playback on a single charge and integrated Dolby Atmos support, it is designed to be easily moved from the kitchen to the patio or bedroom, maintaining premium audio quality wherever it goes.
  • Cove X1 ($450): The flagship of the lineup, the X1 is built for audiophiles looking for a powerful, “room-filling” sound. It boasts a sophisticated driver configuration featuring four tweeters and two woofers, and like the P1, it leverages Dolby Atmos technology to provide a cinematic, immersive experience.

Pricing and Availability

The Cove series represents a modular approach to home audio, allowing consumers to start with a single unit and expand their setup over time. All three models will be available in both black and white finishes.

As JBL looks to redefine its presence in the living room, the Cove series is set to hit the market on September 13, offering a fresh alternative for those seeking a flexible and high-performance audio ecosystem.
