Having entertained audiences for over three decades with memorable performances across genres, Kajol continues to reinvent herself with every new project. Fresh off the success of Maa, the actor, whose filmography includes classics like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Gupt, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Fanaa, My Name Is Khan and others has been honoured with the Bombay Times Headliner – Cinematic Force award.“It feels great to get this title. As actors, we literally pour our sanity into these characters, hoping some stranger in a theatre connects with it. It gives you that massive rush and makes you want to keep going,” Kajol gushes. Reflecting on receiving the title of Cinematic Force after a 30-year journey, she says, “When I started out, I didn’t fit the Hindi cinema mould for a leading actress. I didn’t follow any rulebook. So being called a ‘Force’ after three decades is a reassurance of the fact that being unapologetically myself was the best decision I ever made.”On a parting note she adds, “It means a lot coming from Bombay Times. Bombay Times has witnessed all the milestones of my life. They’ve seen it all.”
