Kartik Aaryan Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery Following On-Set Injury

Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan is on the road to recovery after undergoing a successful knee surgery at a Mumbai hospital. The injury was sustained while the actor was filming a high-octane action sequence for his highly anticipated upcoming project with acclaimed director Kabir Khan.

A Successful Procedure

The actor’s spokesperson confirmed the news, stating that the surgery was completed without complications. "Kartik Aaryan sustained a knee injury while performing an action sequence on the set of his film. The surgery was successful, and he is now back home, resting and recovering. He is expected to be back on set soon," the representative noted.

Prior to the procedure, the actor was admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital for medical care. This is not the first time the Chandu Champion star has faced physical setbacks; he previously dealt with a similar knee injury during the filming of his 2023 movie Shehzada.

A Milestone Year

The health scare comes during what has undoubtedly been a landmark year for the 33-year-old actor. On July 18, the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony marked a monumental achievement in his career as he took home the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

The honor was bestowed upon him for his transformative performance as Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar in the biographical drama Chandu Champion, also helmed by Kabir Khan. Sharing his joy on Instagram, the actor expressed deep gratitude to his fans and the jury, writing, "Still processing… Some moments are simply bigger than words. A dream I’ve carried for years has finally come true."

Aaryan shared the top acting honor with legendary Malayalam actor Mammootty, who secured his fourth National Award for the film Bramayugam.

Looking Ahead

Despite the temporary setback, Aaryan’s professional calendar remains packed. Once he is fully recovered, he is scheduled to return to the sets of his untitled collaboration with Kabir Khan. Furthermore, he has several major projects lined up, including completing the remaining portions of an Anurag Basu-directed romantic drama co-starring Sreeleela, and the upcoming project Naagzilla.

Fans and industry peers have flooded social media with well-wishes for the actor’s speedy recovery as he prepares to return to the silver screen.
