Longridge Environment Group To Host Free Community Screening Of The People’s Emergency Briefing

A film aiming to provide clear information about the scale of the climate crisis will be shown in Longridge this week.

The People’s Emergency Briefing is a public film that will look at the impacts of climate breakdown on food security, health, infrastructure and the economy.

The film launched nationally on 7 April and is designed to be shown in community locations around the UK with a structured discussion from those in attendance following.

The film will be shown at Christ Church on Berry Lane in Longridge at 7pm on Wednesday (3 June). It follows the film being shown at St George’s Church in Preston on 20 May.

It is being hosted by the Longridge Environment Group and they said that local councillors have been invited to attend.

A spokesperson said: “Whether you’re concerned about rising food and energy prices, nature or local flooding; whether you’re a parent wondering what the future will be like for your children, a farmer noticing changing weather patterns, or a teacher wondering how to talk to concerned young people; whether you’re worried about climate change, not worried at all or wondering whether it’s even real… This film is essential viewing for everyone.”

The event is free to attend but you are asked to pick up your tickets so organisers can manage numbers.
