Maharashtra CET Cell Announces Round 1 Seat Allotment for MBBS and BDS Admissions 2026
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has officially released the first list of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for MBBS and BDS courses for the 2026-27 academic year. This crucial announcement marks the beginning of the state-level counseling process, providing clarity for thousands of medical aspirants across the region.
According to the official data, a total of 10,509 students have been granted admission opportunities against 10,646 available seats under the state quota. The breakdown includes 8,065 placements for MBBS programs (out of 8,129 seats) and 2,444 for BDS programs (out of 2,517 seats).
Admission Deadlines and Requirements
Students who have been allotted colleges in this initial phase must complete their admission formalities by physically reporting to their respective institutions. The reporting window is open from August 31, 2026, to September 4, 2026, ending at 5:30 PM.
Candidates are required to bring original documentation along with a Demand Draft (DD) for the prescribed fees. The CET Cell has clarified that in the event of a bank holiday, payments may be made via cheque; however, these must be replaced with a formal Demand Draft on the very next working day. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the cancellation of the admission.

Cutoff Trends and Vacancy Status
The Round 1 cutoff marks reflect a competitive landscape for government and private medical institutions. For government MBBS colleges, the Open Category cutoff stood at 538, while for government BDS colleges, it was 493.
The CET Cell also provided transparency regarding seat vacancies. Currently, 64 MBBS seats reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Orphan categories remain vacant, along with 73 seats in the BDS course under the same categories.
