Maharashtra Teacher Recruitment 2026: Selection List for 13,129 Candidates Released via Pavitra Portal

PUNE: The Maharashtra School Education Department has officially released the selection list for the highly anticipated 2026 teacher recruitment drive. The results, published via the Pavitra portal, mark a significant milestone in filling thousands of teaching vacancies across local self-government bodies, government agencies, and private educational institutions throughout the state.

Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh announced the development during a press conference in Pune, confirming that the list pertains to positions that did not require an additional interview stage.

Recruitment Overview and Statistics

The recruitment drive was conducted based on the performance of candidates in the Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) 2025, which took place between May 27 and June 5, 2025. Out of the 30,209 total advertised posts, 19,754 were designated as “non-interview” positions, covering a broad spectrum of institutions, including municipal schools, government Vidyaniketans, and the Tribal Development Department.

According to the latest data, 13,129 candidates have been recommended for selection. A breakdown of the placements by grade level is as follows:

Grade LevelRecommended Candidates
Classes 1 to 57,541
Classes 6 to 84,207
Classes 9 to 101,119
Classes 11 to 12252
Total**13,119***

*Note: While initial reports cited 13,129, the category-wise detailed breakdown lists 13,119 successful candidates.

Addressing Remaining Vacancies

Despite the latest round of recommendations, a significant number of positions remain vacant due to a lack of eligible candidates within specific reserved categories. Official reports indicate that 2,760 posts in the Ex-Servicemen category and 1,760 posts in the Part-Time category remain unfilled. Furthermore, 802 general Scheduled Tribe (ST) posts and 1,408 ST posts within the PESA (Provisions of the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act) sector are currently vacant.

Upcoming Conversion Round

To address these gaps, the School Education Department has announced that it will initiate a “parallel reservation conversion round.” This process is designed to fill vacancies for which eligible candidates were not available during the initial selection phase.

Candidates who are still awaiting placement are advised to monitor the official portal closely for updates regarding the schedule for this conversion round. The recruitment drive continues to be driven by candidate preferences registered through the Pavitra portal and their verified scores from the TAIT 2025 examination.
