Liverpool expects Mohamed Salah to play again this season after the Egyptian picked up a hamstring injury during the Reds’ win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League

Mohamed Salah is expected to play again for Liverpool this season after his injury was confirmed as being “minor”, meaning he hasn’t made his final appearance for the Reds.
No exact date has been placed on Salah’s return yet, but his hamstring injury is not set to bring an end to his time playing for the side he joined in 2017 from AS Roma. There had been fears that he might have featured for the final time at Anfield.
Salah went down in the second half on Sunday and was replaced by Jeremie Frimpong. Speculation in Egypt had emerged that suggested he could be missing for four weeks, but would be back in time to play in the World Cup.

Liverpool plays Manchester United next weekend. It finishes the season with games against Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford.
The Reds are on the verge of confirming a top five finish, which would be enough to make the Champions League spots.
“We don’t know,” Arne Slot had said last weekend. “That’s the best answer I can give because if I say it might be a chance then probably all the headlines are, ‘there might be a chance…’

“We simply don’t know but what we do know is the season is in four weeks over, so there are not a lot of games being played. We have to wait and see how his injury is and if he is able to return to play.
“What I do know about Mo is throughout all of these years he has taken such good care of his body that he will have the minimum time required to recover from an injury.
“Let’s hope for the best and that he is available in the last part [of the season].”
That was something that Virgil van Dijk reiterated. He also felt that Salah would do everything possible to return as quickly as he could.

“If you get injured at this stage of the season, especially in the situation he is in, there is only two more home games left for him, it’s a combination of feelings that go through your mind,” Van Dijk told reporters.
“He will get the send-off regardless. I don’t think that is the thing at this point, we shouldn’t think too far ahead. Knowing Mo, he is a quick healer and with the right people around him let’s see.”
Alisson Becker has also been sidelined recently, though he could return in goal at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Juventus this week.
